Local Schools Awarded Sponsorship By Goldman Sachs
St. Mary’s College together with Foyle College, Lisneal College, Lumen Christi College, St. Brigid’s College and St. Joseph’s Boys’ School are proud to announce that they have been successful in becoming an ENTHUSE Partnership. As an ENTHUSE Partnership they will gain access to £20,000 worth of support over the next two years to help raise the profile of STEM-related subjects in their schools/colleges.
This partnership is very kindly funded by Puneet Malhi and Goldman Sachs Gives.
Goldman Sachs Gives is committed to fostering innovative ideas, solving economic and social issues, and enabling progress in underserved communities globally. Through a donor-advised fund, Goldman Sachs’ current and retired senior employees work together to recommend grants to qualifying nonprofit organisations to help them achieve their goals. ENTHUSE Partnerships bring schools and colleges together to work collaboratively and are designed to inspire young people into STEM subjects and STEM-related careers. The partnerships have significant benefits for teachers, young people and employers - transforming both the educational culture around STEM in schools and young people’s achievement and aspirations. Schools and colleges taking part receive access to continued professional development, leading educational resources, STEM Ambassadors and teacher placements. With links to local businesses and industry, our learners gain a greater understanding of the STEM industry and the possible career paths.
‘St. Mary’s College are proud to be the lead school for the Goldman Sachs ENTHUSE Partnership who are supporting our mission to achieve a world class STEM education.’ Clare Doherty (Head of Technology & Design/Royal Academy of Engineering Connecting STEM Teachers Coordinator)
