Saint Mary’s Art student takes 1st prize!

Charlotte Bradberry-Axten, a Year 11 pupil, took first place in a special Comic Art competition run by the Verbal Arts centre. Competitors were asked to illustrate the great myth of Saint Columba's battle with the Loch Ness monster on the river Foyle. The competition coincided with Northern Ireland's annual Comic Festival hosted by the Verbal Arts as well as the much publicised 'Return of Colmcille' City of Culture celebrations. Charlotte's prize included a £75 gift voucher and a family weekend pass to the 2D Comic convention held in the Millennium Forum - something that Charlotte, a comic geek, really enjoyed!
