There are 5 full time teachers in the PE Department:

Pupils receive two 45 minute lessons of PE per week.
A broad and balanced PE programme is offered to pupils at St Mary’s.

Physical Education is offered as a GCSE subject at St Mary’s
Currently 28 pupils study this course. Pupils complete 4 practical activities to gain 40% of their marks. Pupils also complete a written paper, worth 30% and an oral evaluation worth 40% of the overall marks.

School Activity Options for Practical GCSE PE
Netball, Gaelic Football, Soccer, Hill Walking and Orienteering. Orienteering is completed during a Field Trip to Gortatole Outdoor Education Centre.
