On Monday 26th April, the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) bus visited St. Mary’s College for the first of several visits this year. Over 80 Year 8 pupils got on board throughout the day to take part in a series of Forensic Science practicals – learning about fingerprinting and DNA as well as other crime scene analysis techniques.
The bus will return on several other occasions later in the year for a series of other science and technology workshops...

On Thursday 18th March 2010 St Mary's College, in conjunction with RTU and IiP will hold its 2nd annual learning conference. The theme for this year's conference is 'Teaching Thinking Skills: A Practical Approach'. All primary, secondary, grammar and special schools in the city have been invited and they will be joined by local councillors, politicians and leading business members of the community.

Netball Success

The intermediates defeated Lumen Christi 26 v 17 to win the Derry Schools Netball Final and were runners up in the Western Area Final. Two pupils Ciara Cooley and Sarah Loughrey have been scouted by N.I. selectors and will soon be called for international trials. The inters are currently at the quarter final stage of the N.I. Cup.
