Dissolving Boundaries through technology in Education
This year St. Mary's College Science Department will once again be linking up with Carndonagh Community School to complete joint projects on a range of science topics. Ms. Harkin's Year 8 class will represent the school this year and are looking forward to working on their project on Space.
Pupils from Carndonagh and from St. Mary's will form joint groups and, through internet forums and video conferencing, will work together in their small groups (each group consisting of pupils from both schools) to complete their projects. They will then produce their own 'wikis'. (basically their own science websites) to showcase their work. Pupils will also have the chance for face to face meetings during the programme.
This venture is possible through the 'Dissolving Boundaries through Technology in Eduaction' Programme.
The programme is co-ordinated jointly by Maynooth University, Ireland and the University of Ulster.
More details will follow including details of the pupils' work!
